The auto parts cross-reference database is a table of cross-references between the part numbers of original and aftermarket parts, delivered together with a part-number table. A cross-reference is a link between two part numbers recorded as replacing each other. The cross-reference database has been collected since 2015.
The cross-reference database is meant for sites that sell auto parts, for inventory and accounting systems, and for CRMs.
One brand costs €35, the full database €750 — prices and formats are further down this page. To start with your own brands, message us on Telegram or write to fapi@iisis.ru.
What the cross-reference database holds
The database has two parts. The first holds cross-reference records, each one linking a part number to another part number recorded as its replacement. The second is the part-number table, which lists the part numbers themselves with their brand, name and type. The figures below are as of 4 February 2026.
A single cross-reference record is made of two part numbers, each with its brand, a rating and a name. The rating is the confidence level of the record. The part-number table adds the type of each number: original (OE), aftermarket or unknown.
How a cross-reference database is used in a parts business
Search on your own site can start from the number the buyer has. A buyer who enters an OE number can be shown the aftermarket part that is on your shelf, because the cross-reference links the two numbers.
The counter can answer “what replaces this” from your inventory system. The cross-references sit next to your stock, so the person at the counter looks up the number and sees the replacements on record.
A supplier’s price list can be matched to your own range. The part numbers in the price list are compared with the part numbers you already carry, and a cross-reference record links two lines that carry different numbers.
Product cards on your own site can carry the OE numbers a buyer searches by. The OE numbers linked to an aftermarket part can be added to its card. The data makes this possible, and what you do with it is your decision.
Cross-reference database formats: text, Excel and SQL
The cross-reference database is delivered in one of three formats: text, Excel or SQL.
The text archive has four parts.
| Part | What it holds | Fields |
|---|---|---|
dump_full |
The whole database in one file, the simplest to load | brand; number; cross brand; cross number; rating; name |
dump_by_manufacturer |
The cross-references split by brand, for when only some brands are needed | brand; number; cross brand; cross number; rating; name |
dump_by_source |
The cross-references split by data source | brand; number; cross brand; cross number; rating; name |
dump_product |
The part-number table | brand; normalised number; full number; type; name; Unix time |
In dump_product the full number is the number with its separators and special characters, and it reads not_set when it is unknown. The type is 10 for an original (OE) number, 0 for an aftermarket number and -1 when the type is unknown. Unix time is the date the part number was last updated.
The files are large, and an ordinary text editor will not open them.
The SQL archive is for MySQL and PostgreSQL. It contains README.txt with the loading instruction, example queries and field descriptions, scheme.sql with the structure, and the data files analog_list.txt, manufacturer_list.txt and product_list.txt.
How the rating of a cross-reference works
Each cross-reference record carries a rating. It is the confidence level of that record, and it is calculated by algorithms.
How you use the rating is the shop’s own decision. A shop may show higher-rated replacements first, or leave out the lower-rated ones, or show them all in rating order. The rating is a field in the table, and the rule that reads it is yours to write.
How the cross-reference database is updated
An update subscription costs €12 a month. It is available to clients who have bought the full database.
An update arrives by e-mail with links to two archives. The text archive is the fuller one, with cross-references split by brand. The SQL archive is for loading into a database, and it comes with the instruction and example queries.
Frequently asked questions about cross-reference data
What is a cross-reference in an auto parts cross-reference database?
A cross-reference is a link between two part numbers recorded as replacing each other. In this database the links join the part numbers of original and aftermarket parts.
What does one cross-reference record contain?
One record holds two part numbers, each with its brand, a rating and a name. The rating is the confidence level of the record and is calculated by algorithms.
Which format should I choose: text, Excel or SQL?
The database is delivered in one of three formats: text, Excel or SQL. Choose SQL if you load the data into MySQL or PostgreSQL, and text if you want plain files, starting with the whole database in a single file.
Can I buy one brand without the full database?
Yes. An export of one brand costs €35 per brand. The full database costs €750.
How do updates arrive?
An update arrives by e-mail with links to two archives. One is the text archive, split by brand, and the other is the SQL archive with the instruction and example queries. The update subscription costs €12 a month and is available to clients who have bought the full database.
How does the database load into MySQL or PostgreSQL?
The SQL archive contains README.txt with the loading instruction and example queries, scheme.sql with the structure, and the data files analog_list.txt, manufacturer_list.txt and product_list.txt.
